Steve Smith, Randy Feehan, Mike Ciccone and Dave Adams set forth on Sunday Jan 10 at 1:00pm on a Butler NCT Chapter hike 5 miles along the North Country Trail.
Ron Rice met us at Jennings and shuttled us down to the 528 Trailhead as fine powdery snow began to coat everything.
The wind blew the snow horizontal at times, coating the sides of the trees and the flakes grew larger as we hiked north back to Jennings. But neither snow, nor occasional muddy spots in the trail deterred us from having fun as we hiked along and several hours later we were back at the Jennings trailhead.

Mild weather greeted the 118 folks who came out for the First Day Hike sponsored by the BOC and Moraine State Park from the Bike Rental Parking Area along the North Country Trail to Burnside Rd and back for a total of 7 miles. A good start on the NCT 100 mile challenge
