2010 North Country Trail Annual Conference

August 5-8

Not Only A Conference but A Vacation Destination!

The North Country Trail Association’s 2010 National Conference location will be on the majestic south shore of Lake Superior. With the Apostle Islands National Lake Shore, the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center, Copper Falls State Park, Madeline Island (Big Bay State Park) and the very popular City of Bayfield all within a short distance from the Conference site, this is more than a Conference.

A two-night pre-conference back packing trip is planned and during the conference you will have the opportunity to hike on sections of the North Country Trail from all three Chapters of Wisconsin and one section from the UP of Michigan. Planned hikes vary from: Wilderness to recently completed boardwalks – small creeks to large inland lakes and waterfalls – “ancient” to newly created North Country Trail. Interpreters are planned for all eleven of the hikes with expertise ranging from Naturalist to Historian. We do truly have a section of NCT for everyone!

There will be a chance to tour the Apostle Islands on a cruise ship or canoe on the Brule River. Children’s activities are planned at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center and the AmericInn has a “Splashland”. Add great food and entertainment at night and what do you have? Not only a conference, but a Vacation Destination. If you where going to miss a NCTA National Conference, this should not be the one!!

Please join us…

We hope to see you in Wisconsin in August 2010.
