North Dakota

Dakota Prairie Grasslands Chapter

This chapter maintains trail from the Minnesota border through the Sheyenne National Grasslands.

Sheyenne River Valley Chapter

The Sheyenne River Valley chapter is responsible for trail from Fort Ransom through Griggs County, N.D.

Lonetree Chapter

The Lonetree Chapter is responsible for the trail within Lonetree Wildlife Management Area (WMA). More than 32 miles of NCT within the Lonetree WMA is certified and hikeable.

Minnesota

Arrowhead Chapter

This chapter (formerly the Grand Rapids Area Hiking Club) maintains a 28-mile portion of the Trail within the Chippewa National Forest in Cass County and will be building new trail across Itasca and St. Louis Counties to connect with the Kekekabic Trail's western terminus northeast of Ely. Members are largely based in the Grand Rapids, MN area.  Visit the Chapter's Meetup page for the Chapter's calendar of events.

Star of the North

This chapter maintains, builds and promotes trail in the state of Minnesota not managed by the Itasca Moraine and Laurentian Lakes Chapters, along with trail managed by the Superior Hiking Trail Association, Border Trail Route Association and the Kekekabic Trail Club. Members are largely based in the Twin Cities area and travel to the trail.

Itasca Moraine Chapter

This chapter covers the trail from the west boundary of Chippewa National Forest to a point within Itasca State Park defined as the intersection of the Eagle Scout Trail (host trail) and Nicollet Trail.

Laurentian Lakes Chapter

The Laurentian Lakes Chapter is responsible for developing and maintaining the NCT from the intersection of the Nicollet and Eagle Scout trails in Itasca State Park through Clearwater County to the Becker-Ottertail County border.

Wisconsin

Heritage Chapter, Wisconsin

This chapter supports the trail in Iron and Ashland counties. It was formed to develop, maintain and promote the use of the NCT from Copper Falls State Park near Mellen, WI., to the Wisconsin-Michigan border near Hurley, WI

Chequamegon Chapter

Maintains and supports the trail in the general region of Chequamegon National Forest, from Copper Falls State Park near Mellan, WI., to the boundary of Chequamegon National Forest, south of Iron River, WI.

Brule-St;. Croix Chapter

The Brule-St. Croix chapter develops, maintain, and promotes the use of the NCT in Northwest Wisconsin, from Bayfield County Highway A — south of Iron River, WI. — to the Wisconsin-Minnesota border near Foxboro, WI.

Michigan

Chief Baw Beese Chapter

This chapter builds and maintains the North Country Trail from Hillsdale County to the Ohio border.

Chief Noonday Chapter

Trail from Battle Creek to just south of Grand Rapids is built and maintained by this chapter.

Western Michigan Chapter

This chapter maintains trail from the Grand Rapids area to just south of Baldwin.

Spirit of the Woods Chapter

This chapter is responsible for developing and maintaining the NCT from north of Newago County to the northern border of the Manistee National Forest in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Trail in this range includes segments through the Huron-Manistee National Forest and includes Manistee, Mason and Lake counties.

Grand Traverse Hiking Club Chapter

This chapter is comprised of outdoor enthusiasts residing in and around Traverse City. The area of trail covered extends from the Mesick area to Manistee Lake, northeast of Kalkaska.

Tittabawassee Chapter

The segment of NCT running through Antrim and Charlevoix counties is hiked and maintained by this chapter.

Harbor Springs Chapter

This chapter is responsible for developing and maintaining the NCT in Emmet County, or roughly 46 miles from Mackinaw City to Petoskey. Trails in this area pass through large public land tracts, including parts of the Pere Marquette State Forest and Wilderness State Park.

Hiawatha Shore to Shore Chapter

The Hiawatha Shore to Shore Chapter maintains 122 miles of trail, running from Mackinaw City to Lake Superior.

Grand Marais Chapter

This chapter is responsible for about 150 miles of trail in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, from west of the Two Hearted River, west to Munising and Grand Marais and ending in River Rock Canyon. This segment also includes Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

North Country Trail Hikers Club

This chapter maintains trail in the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan, beginning east of Marquette at Rock River Road in Alger County and heading west to Long Lake in the Ottawa National Forest.

Peter Wolfe Chapter

This chapter is responsible for most of the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan, from the east side of Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park to eastern Baraga County, an area of more than 140 miles with only one mile of road walking.

Ni-Miikanaake Chapter

The Ni-Miikanaake (I make a Trail in Ojibwa) chapter is the western most in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, linking the trail to Wisconsin.  Our segment from the Wisconsin border goes east to M-64 and passes through the Gogebic County Forest, the Ottawa National Forest, The Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park and private land owners.  The area consists of mostly mature forest with diverse flora & fauna, a mixed terrain of old logging roads,  narrow paths and elevation changes.  The trail offers 4 seasons of recreational opportunity.  Each with it’s own special perspectives of this area of the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan

Ohio

Great Trail-Sandy Beaver Canal Chapter

The Great Trail-Sandy Beaver Canal chapter is responsible for developing and maintaining the NCT where it leaves the Buckeye Trail in eastern Ohio and continues east to Pennsylvania. This trail will parallel parts of the Great or Tuscarawas Trail and the Sandy Beaver Canal.

Ohio Valley Chapter

The Ohio Valley Chapter is responsible for planning, constructing and maintaining the NCT from Wayne National Forest Boundary west through Washington and Morgan counties.

Adams County Chapter

This chapter is responsible for developing and maintaining the NCT through Adams County, which includes part of the trail in Shawnee State Forest

Little Cities of the Forest Chapter

The Little Cities of the Forest Chapter helps develop, maintain, and promote the roughly 60-mile section of the North Country National Scenic Trail from Logan on the Hocking River to Stockport, Ohio on the Muskingum River in conjunction with the Buckeye Trail Association. The Trail in this section meanders through the rolling hills, backwoods, and small "cities" of southeastern Appalachian Ohio, running through Burr Oak State Park, the Wayne National Forest, and private lands.

Pennsylvania

Allegheny Forest Chapter

This chapter is responsible for trail in the Allegheny National Forest.

Clarion County Chapter

This chapter is responsible for the NCT from the southern end of Allegheny National forest through Clarion Country in Cook Forest State Park and State Game Lands No. 283.

Butler County Chapter

The Butler chapter promotes outdoor activities and lifestyles in and around Butler, Pa., and is responsible for building, maintaining and promoting the NCT from Moraine State Park to the Old Stone House on PA State Route 8, and the jump to Pleasant Valley Road lvania.

Wampum Chapter

This chapter works closely with the National Park Service to build and promote the NCT in Lawrence and Beaver counties. Here, the trail travels through McConnell's Mill State Park, PA State Game Lands 148, and PA State Game Lands 285.

Central New York

Responsible for the Central New York region, where the NCT departs from the Onodaga trail of the Finger Lakes Trail system and heads north.
