You Can Help

This page focuses on ways in which you can financially help the trail effort. Most of these methods will benefit you as well.

One direct way you can support the trail is by joining the NCTA. There are several levels of membership, and the higher the level at which you join, the more money you are donating for trail support. Makes sense! There is a base level of cost associated with each memberhip, and this does not increase if you choose to join at a higher level, so more of your dollars can be used to build, protect or promote the trail. Click on Join the NCTA at the left to go to the membership form and read about benefits to you if you join the Association.

You could also choose to simply make a donation to the NCTA. You can do this on-line using Visa, Mastercard, or American Express, or you can mail a check to our office in the traditional manner. Donations can be designated to special funds, or to a specific chapter. Click on Make a Donation at the left to learn more.

If you buy items from our own Trail Shop not only do you get cool stuff, but the proceeds go directly to the NCTA to help fund the many services the NCTA provides to Chapters where the on-the-ground work of trail building and maintenance is accomplished.

The NCTA has Business Memberships, and Agency/Organization Memberships, those who support the trail at a higher level and are called North Country Champions. If you have an opportunity to patronize any of these businesses it will help assure them that their investment in the NCTA has real returns for them as well. Be sure to tell them that you chose their service because they support the North Country Trail. At the very least, thank them for caring about the trail if you have a chance. If you own a business and would like to become a business member, you can also find information through the Business Partners link.

Some companies offer Matching Gift programs. When employees donate to a non-profit organization the company will match the donation. See who's been doing this for the NCTA.
