Based in Wakefield in the far western corner of the Upper Peninsula (U.P.) of Michigan, the Ni-Miikanaake Chapter Chapter is responsible for developing, maintaining, protecting and promoting our section of the North Country National Scenic Trail (NCNST). It spans from the Wisconsin border east to M-64 near Bergland, and passes through the Gogebic County Forest, the Ottawa National Forest, the Porcupine Mt. Wilderness State Park and private land.
The Ni-Miikanaake Chapter is the newest North Country Trail Association’s (NCTA’s) chapter. Currently we have more than 25 members. You can be our newest member by joining NCTA / NMK.
The chapter organizes a variety of activities, including monthly General Membership Meetings, trail maintenance work days, hikes, and snowshoe and cross-country ski outings.
