North Country Trail Association

DRAFT Volunteers-In-Parks Program Agreement

If you plan to spend time volunteering for the North Country National Scenic Trail and/or the North Country Trail Association, you are encouraged to sign the Volunteers-In-Parks program agreement.

Overview

What is the Volunteers-In-Parks program?
The Volunteers-In-Parks (VIP) program is administrated by the National Park Service (NPS). It provides important protection for volunteers while serving their trail community.
What are the benefits of signing the program agreement?
All Volunteers-In-Parks (VIPs) are entitled to the same injury considerations that National Park Service (NPS) employees receive, provided they are operating within their approved scope of duties and NPS policies. Additionally, VIPs are recognized for their contributions and earn annual recognition items based on hours of service, and are eligible to attend certain skills and leadership training.
