Join us, the Allegheny National Forest Chapter, as we emerge from the depth of winter, get off the couch, and enjoy the late winter beauty of the Allegheny National Forest! We’ll meet no later than 10:00 a.m. at the Kellettville Bridge parking located on the south side of the bridge over the Tionesta in Kellettville. GPS coordinates for the trailhead are N 41°32.697′, W 079°15.323′

From there, we’ll hike north or south, most likely on forest roads, out and back. Depending on weather, snow depth, and energy of the participants, we could hike as far as 10 miles. If you have traction devices for your shoes, like yaks or micro spikes, please bring them. There will be two hike leaders so that, if desired, one group of hikers can turn back with a leader, while the other group can continue toward the shelter.

There will be no shuttle as this is an out-and-back hike. If you are unvaccinated and cannot maintain six feet of distance from others, you must wear a mask.

Please come prepared for the hike by wearing appropriate layers for the weather, and bringing your own water and food. Friendly dogs are welcome.
