First April Trailwork Day
Lend a hand helping the Allegheny National Forest Chapter prepare the Trail for the hiking season.
We plan to work north and south of Rt 59. There are varied tasks to accomplish, including: repairing signs and bridges, directing water off the trail, and clearing downfall from the trail.
We’ll meet at the Rt 59 Trailhead. The trailhead is located about 2.25 miles west of Rt 321 South and about 5 miles east of the Wolf Run Marina. Google Maps
Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. If you are interested in helping paint blazes, wear clothes that can get paint on them! All tools are provided and no special skills are needed.
We encourage people who are new to trail work to come out and give back to the trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work”. Hope to see you there!
