Allegheny National Forest Chapter: May Trail Work Weekend – Sunday
Join the Allegheny National Forest Chapter Saturday, May 20th, Sunday, May 21st or both as we prepare for the Allegheny-100 Hiking Challenge.
For both days, meet no later than 10AM.
If you are interested in camping Saturday evening, we suggest Red Bridge, Tracy Ridge or Willow Bay Forest Service campgrounds.
On Sunday, May 21st, the meeting spot is at the Sugar Bay Trailhead. The trailhead is located 7.5 mi south of Rt 346 and 6.35 mi north of Rt 59 along Rt 321.
On this weekend, we’ll be working on clearing and brushing to prepare for the A-100, along with a few small projects.
Please wear weather-appropriate clothing, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. All tools are provided and no special skills are needed. We encourage people new to trail work to come out and give back to the trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work”. Hope to see you there!
