The drive into this hike in the Lost National State Game Area goes right past the Greater Hillsdale Humane Society. We of the NCTA Chief Baw Beese Chapter thought it would be especially nice, and completely voluntary, if we worked to raise some donations for this incredible shelter servicing the homeless dogs and cats of Hillsdale County (Mich.). Donations are completely optional and not required to participate in the hike, but anyone who does bring donations can stop by after the hike to drop off the donations – and maybe adopt a new trail companion!

The actual hike will go from the Tripp Road trailhead to the M-34 trailhead logbook. This section of Trail is an entirely natural trail through dense woods that includes two water crossings. The hike is dog and family friendly. Dogs must remain leashed at all times.
