Blue Blaze Festival, Buckeye Trail Association
On the first Saturday of October, the Buckeye Trail Association (BTA) is hosting the Blue Blaze Festival, celebrating the Buckeye Trail with running, hiking and backpacking. This year there will be five options:
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K run/walk
- 10-mile Buckeye Trail hike
- Overnight backpacking experience
All events are on the Buckeye Trail in the Wayne National Forest. The start and finish for all of the events will be in Shawnee, Ohio, near the Buckeye Trail Association office.
Free camping will be available for event participants at 5975 Tecumseh Road, Shawnee, Ohio. Other camping options: NCNST trailhead in Shawnee (primitive camping), Old Stone Church Camp (primitive camping), Burr Oak State Park Lodge or Campground, and Burr Oak Getaways.
