SUMMARY:Multi-Chapter National Trails Day Event in Wisconsin
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate National Trails Day the Brule-St. Croix\, Chequame
 gon\, and Heritage Chapters will meet together for hikes\, paddle sports\,
  and a potluck.\n\nThe public is welcome to this free event! (Hikes are no
 t suitable for people with mobility impairments.)\n\nAll events start at t
 he Drummond Civic Center. The event will be held rain or shine\, but to be
  notified about any last minute schedule changes due to weather\, RSVP to 
 che@northcountrytrail.org\n\n8:00 Civic Center opens \n\n8:30 Paddle sport
 s all day on your own at Drummond Lake just downhill from the Civic Center
 .\n\n8:30 Assemble for 5.7 mile (2 ½ hr) guided hike from Delta-Drummond 
 Road to Drummond Civic Center. Car shuttle to start. Rolling hills\, four 
 lakes\, hardwood forest\, majestic groves of pine and hemlock\, historic r
 ailroad grade\; narrow tread has exposed tree roots and rocks.\n\n9:15 Ass
 emble for 3.2 mile (1 ½ hr) guided\, loop hike around Lake Owen Peninsula
  from Forest Rd 213. Car shuttle to start. Majestic old growth forest\, la
 ke views\, interpretive signs. Easy hike.\n\n9:30 Assemble for 1.5 mile (1
  ½ hr) guided\, interpretive hike from Old Hwy 63 trailhead through Drumm
 ond Woods Natural Area to Drummond Civic Center. Car shuttle to start. Old
  growth hardwoods\, hemlock and pine\, historic railroad grade. Easy hike 
 with some exposed tree roots and rocks.\n\n11:30 Set up for potluck. Bring
  your own beverages (no alcohol) and a dish to share\, but keep cold foods
  cold and hot foods hot. Limited refrigerator space and electrical outlets
  available in Civic Center. Plates\, tableware\, napkins\, and cups provid
 ed.\n\n12:00 Potluck. What a feast!\n\n1:00 Welcome by Chapter leaders. Hi
 story of Drummond area by Jim Crandall.\n\nAfternoon: Free time. A ½ mile
