Puncheon Building Workday
The NCTA Chief Noonday Chapter has long suffered with a stretch of muddy wet trail and we are now finally ready to improve this section! On June 17 we will need a variety of folks: Some will move the decking to the work area (about 1/10 mile from the trailhead), some will start the building of the puncheon (a raised walkway). Lumber will be cut to 3-foot lengths so the work can be as easy or had as you make it.
Come for a couple of hours or aim for a late lunch and possibly returning to work into the afternoon; weather may play a major role. Please send questions or RSVP to Eric Longman at ericnct@gmail.com. Come with gloves, insect repellent, and long sleeve shirts/long pants to move the lumber. Building tools should be brought, mostly for screwing lumber together, so drivers, battery operated drills for 3-inch “star” screws, and perhaps battery powered saws for some cutting on site.
Meet just off Robertson Road about a half-mile south of W. Garbow Road, north of Middleville, MI (Michigan Mile 1021.8).
