SUMMARY:Hickory Meadows & Hickory Hill Hike
DESCRIPTION:Work off Thanksgiving BWS (Beached Whale Syndrome) by joining h
 ikers from the Grand Traverse Chapter on a beautiful hike with paths meand
 ering through meadows and upland forests\, including a superb view of Trav
 erse City from the top of Hickory Hill. \n\nWe'll meet at Noon at the Hick
 ory Meadows trailhead\, at the west end of Randolph street in Traverse Cit
 y. Turn into the parking lot and park immediately on the right rather than
  continuing to the ski lodge.\n\nFirst\, we'll hike the 2-mile meadow trai
 l at an easy 2-miles per hour pace that will bring us back to the parking 
 lot. Then\, if the ski hill isn’t in use yet (it’ll probably be too ea
 rly for serious snow) those who wish can hike up to the top of the ski hil
 l and the adjacent woods for another 2 miles. The hill is steep\, but wort
 h it for the view (assuming good weather). For this part\, hiking boots an
 d poles would be very useful.\n\nWe'll finish with hot drinks and cookies.
