Join the Harbor Springs, Jordan Valley 45 N, and Hiawatha Shore-to-Shore Chapters on an 8-mile through hike
in Sections 10 and 11, from Cecil Bay Road to Mackinaw City.
Section 10 includes balsam, cedar and pine forests. It crosses Carp River and French Farm Lake dam. It includes many puncheon walkways over streams and wet areas. Two miles of the trail border French Farm Lake with many scenic views and waterfowl viewing.
Many lady slipper flowers and other flowers are likely to be in bloom during the time of this hike.
Section 11 includes views of French Farm Lake and crosses a gas and oil pipeline. It has many puncheon walkways and goes through hardwoods and pine forests.
Part of the trail follows the Northwestern State Trail which is paved between Trails End Road and Mackinaw City.

This is multi-chapter hike celebrates National Trails Day.

We’ll drive filled cars to Cecil Bay Road.

Shorter hikes offered. We will split into groups according to hike distance preferences at the North Central State Trailhead pavilion.

Prepare your car for shuttling hikers. There is an option of going to lunch after the hike.
