SUMMARY:Eastern UP Trail Work Weekend
DESCRIPTION:It's a hike! It's a trail work event! It's BOTH! We invite you 
 to join the Hiawatha Shore-to-Shore Chapter for our 2025 work/hike weekend
  on Thursday – Saturday\, July 31 – August 2\, 2025! We’ll clear the
  trail of winter blowdowns\, mow\, lop\, blaze\, and conduct trail tread r
 epair and heavy maintenance\, as required. You also get a chance to hike s
 ome of the most beautiful sections of the NCT. You have never worked so FU
 N!\n\nOur goal is to provide group support to our Trail Adopters and the w
 ork they do in maintaining their sections of the trail. Working as a group
  is always more fun and productive as it allows us to conduct heavier main
 tenance to ensure a sustainable trail for years to come.\n\nWork Location:
  We will focus on the NCT section which stretches from vicinity MI-430 to 
 MI-441 on the NCT Maps. (Note: These mile numbers could change with map up
 dates.)\n\nLink-up Time and Location: See our Facebook Events posting for 
 details on linkup time and location. We will update these event announceme
 nts if anything changes. If you don’t follow or access Facebook\, contac
 t Brad Stewart for more information.\n\nBring: water\, food\, bug repellen
 t\, sunscreen\, work gloves\, rain gear\, and A FRIEND. Wear appropriate c
 lothing and footwear for the weather and bring a change of clothes for the
  end of the day. We will provide all tools\, and no special skills are nee
 ded because we also provide training. We encourage people new to trail wor
 k to come out and give back to the trail. Remember that “many hands make

 ork plan based on the number of volunteers attending.\n\nCamping: Disperse
 d camping is available\, and locations will be designated once we know how
  many volunteers will attend and camp. Plan for dispersed / remote camping
  site with no amenities as a worse case. We will be able to park near the 
 dispersed camping area so you can either tent or car camp. Also\, we will 
 either dig a field latrine or stage a portable latrine.\n\nMeals: Provide
