The Ni-Miikanaake Chapter will be hosting a chapter meeting open to all members and individuals interested in being involved with the chapter.

The meeting will be held indoors at Cold Iron Brewing in Ironwood, MI. Priorities and opportunities for the upcoming hiking season will be discussed and participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and volunteer for projects if they are so inclined.

We’re gearing up for many exciting projects and opportunities this season and look forward to your participation and ideas.
A more detailed agenda will follow, but we expect to discuss the following topics:
Ongoing discussions
• Trail Adoption
• Partnership with Friends of the Porkies (FOTP) – student work crew and trail segment adoption within the park
• Trail reroute west of Copper Peak
New topics
• Work crew opportunity through the Ottawa National Forest
• Volunteer training opportunities, including chainsaw and First Aid/CPR training
• Upcoming public hikes and work sessions
• Elections for Vice President and Secretary
• Proposal for AED purchase

Food: Pizza will be served – feel free to bring a dish to pass if you’re so inclined.
