DESCRIPTION:Start the New Year with some NCT Navigation Know-How!\n\nSpirit
  of the Woods is hosting a Navigation Workshop on Saturday January 18\, 20
 25.\n\nPresentation from 10am-12pm followed by a potluck lunch\, and aroun
 d 1pm we hit the trail to hike and practice using Avenza.\n\nRSVP required
  and space is limited so that individual attention can be given to partici

 avigation Workshop" in the subject line to reserve a spot and ask any ques
 tions you may have.\n\nThe detailed workshop location and map links will b
 e sent to registered participants. For driving distance and planning purpo
 ses\, the location is near Walhalla\, MI. Wallhalla is about midway betwee
 n Baldwin and Ludington\, MI. Act quickly to guarantee a spot.\n\nTopics c
 overed include NCTA Interactive Map and Avenza App:\n\nThe NCTA Interactiv
 e online map is full of useful features for planning and navigating hikes.
  Learn how to navigate the map and its features. Find out which trail maps
  are available with NCT and those that must be obtained elsewhere. Learn h
 ow to use map layers\, backgrounds\, find locations and mileages\, and how
  to download and print paper maps. We will demonstrate how to access and u
 se this resource on a laptop. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own 
 laptop or notebook to follow along.\n\nThe Avenza App is a free on Android
  and Apple phones. Participants are encouraged to download the app prior t
 o the workshop but assistance will be available at the workshop if you nee
 d help. This portion of the workshop will teach you map downloads\, findin
 g current location\, coordinate systems\, tracking a hike\, marking waypoi
 nts with notes\, tagging locations\, and including photos.\n\nFor updates\
