Our December hike is Saturday, December 6 at 10:00 a.m. The Spirit of the Woods Chapter will host a group hike starting at the Timber Creek Trailhead. This is northwest of the town of Baldwin, MI on US-10. We hope you can join us as we wrap up our 2025 hiking season.

It’s more than a hike, let’s feast! Our Chapter will provide a cozy campfire with hot water and cocoa mix. Please bring your favorite mug, lawn chair, and a yummy snack to share. We can swap fun trail stories and start dreaming about our 2026 plans.

‘Tis the season for sharing so we would love all participants (if you would like) to bring an unwrapped gift, and our Chapter will donate them to the local Toys for Tots and Gifts for Teens program.

Note there is a $5 day use fee, or you can use the federal annual Forest Pass, Interagency Pass or Interagency Senior Pass. Learn more details here.

If we should be so lucky as to have snow, you may find it helpful to have traction devices on your shoes or snowshoes. The distance will depend on weather, snow cover and participants but will be probably be about 6 miles in dry weather. In case of bad weather please contact Loren or check our Facebook group.
