Has the thought of taking the family or yourself backpacking crossed your mind? Join the Wampum Chapter for a short overnight at the Sankey Hill shelter! The shelter is approximately 1/2 mile from the starting location.

This is open to families, including kids eight and under.

Families must supply camping accommodations fitting their needs (tent, first aid kit, sleeping bags, etc.) and must carry in. Click here for advice on what to bring.

We will meet at the Wampum Depot (see location above) at 5pm Friday, July 11, then drive to Sankey Hill trailhead. After a short hike, we will set up camp. Along the way, we will learn about trail etiquette, reading trail markers, and Leave No Trace.

We will return to vehicles no later than 11am on Saturday morning.

A simple dinner and breakfast will be provided. Bring additional food, snacks, and water to for your needs.
