Border Route Trail section of the North Country Trail

About the Border Route Trail Association:

The Border Route Trail Association (BRTA) was incorporated in 2004 to coordinate the maintenance of the Border Route Trail (BRT) and other public trails. The BRTA organizes trail clearing trips in the spring and fall to keep the BRT in good condition. New volunteers are always needed. The BRTA also publishes maps and trail guide for the BRT.

The Trail:

The Border Route Trail (BRT) is a 65-mile long hiking trail that crosses the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) in the far northeast corner of Minnesota (Arrowhead) and follows the international border between Minnesota and Ontario, Canada. The BRT is part of the proposed Arrowhead Re-Route for the NCNST.
