About the Superior Hiking Trail Association:
The Superior Hiking Trail Association(SHTA) is responsible for the 310 miles of the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT) in northeastern Minnesota between the Wisconsin boundary near Jay Cooke State Park and the Border Route Trail.
Please join them! The Superior Hiking Trail Association has volunteer opportunities for building, maintaining, and promoting the Trail in their area. They host trail workdays, regular hikes, and social events throughout the year. For more info, visit their website at http://shta.org.
Follow the trail line above Lake Superior from the south of Duluth, Minnesota to the Canadian border. Trailhead parking lots are situated every 5-10 miles apart making this trail ideal for day hikes, backpacking, thru hiking, & trailrunning.
The SHTA has published a guidebook and maps of the SHT which are available on their website: http://shta.org/guide-book-maps-and-gps/.
The SHT is part of the Arrowhead Re-Route for the NCNST.
