Be part of a trail maintenance trip that combines hands-on work with camping and paddling.

We’ll meet at the Lake McFarland car camping area (at the end of the Arrowhead Trail) on Thursday evening. On Friday morning, we will canoe across Lake McFarland toward Pine Lake. We’ll set up basecamp at either the campsite, on the spit of land between McFarland and Pine Lake, or further in on the north side of Pine Lake. From this base, we will hike in daily to clear our assigned four-mile segment of the Border Route Trail, located between the McFarland-East Pike portage and the Pine-East Pike Lake portage. We return on Monday, the 25th.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided, but participants are responsible for bringing their own snacks.

No training or certifications are required, but signing up for the Volunteer-In-Parks (VIP) program is highly recommended.

A $30 fee is required to attend, and will be donated to the Border Route Trail. Click here to access the payment page.

Please note this event is limited to 9 people.
