2025 NCTA Volunteer Awards: Blue Blazes Benefactor
This award is presented to an individual or household demonstrating vision and generosity through significant monetary or in-kind contribution(s) to the North Country Trail or the NCTA.
Bigelow Family
The Bigelow Family are lifelong hikers with a deep appreciation for the trail. Mike and Lorraine raised their children in West Michigan, where they all developed a strong love for the outdoors. They are now retired and wintering in Florida, but their bond with the trail remains strong. A couple years ago, they made a significant contribution to further the mission of the Association. Mike recognized that while using the trail is free, its upkeep requires immense effort, and they admire the NCTA’s dedication. The Bigelows have since supported the Association annually, demonstrating a lasting commitment and profound understanding of the work involved in building and maintaining a National Scenic Trail.
