The Ni-Miikanaake Chapter will host a hike and cookout at the Presque Isle River in the Porcupine Mountains.

Meet at the Presque Isle River parking area at 10AM CST:
From the intersection of Hwy 2 and M-28 in Wakefield, go east on M-28, Just out of Wakefield, take CR 519 north all the way to the very end in the Porkies. The day area parking lot is to the right at the very end. Distance on CR 519 is about 18 miles.

We will shuttle hikers to the Speaker’s Trailhead for a 3.1-mile hike back to the Presque Isle River parking area. Hike start time is 10:20 CST. Bring water, snacks, bug repellant, and your dog (must be on a leash) if you like. The hike is mostly flat terrain, with a biggish ravine near the end. Fall color should be starting. We will wrap up the fun with a cookout, potluck and some laughs.

Though we encourage all who join us for outings to become members and support the NCT, if you aren’t yet a member you are still welcome to join us and see what we’re all about!
