Group 6.75-Mile Through Hike
Join the Harbor Springs Chapter on a summer hike. The trail goes along many ponds, through Lake Michigan forested sand dunes, a swamp, and pine and hardwood forest. Part of this trail follows Wilderness Park Trails, Swampline and Sturgeon Bay Trail. Wilderness Park marks trail intersections.
All of this section is within Wilderness State Park, and Park rules apply.
Meet at 2000 West Lakeview Road, Levering, MI 49755 (GPS 45.703508, -84.952033) at 9:00 and drive filled cars to Goose Pond in Wilderness State Park.
Parking lots are available at Lakeview and Goose Ponds, but a State Park Recreation Passport is required. Otherwise, park along the road.
Note: There are two Sturgeon Bay Trails. One is a county road which goes between Pleasantview Road and North Lakeshore Drive. The other is a trail within Wilderness State Park.
