Western Michigan Chapter Monthly Hike
Join the Western Michigan Chapter on our monthly hike!
- Time: 1:00 p.m.
- Coordinates: 42.951700, -85.334968
- Distance: Up to 5.5 miles
- Description: Hike starts just south of mile marker MI LP-447.5 at the Boy Scout Cabin in Lowell. We will hike north to Flat River Drive SE, just past mile marker MI LP-445. This should give us close to 2.75 miles out and then back for a total of approximately 5.5 miles. Because this is an out-and-back, you have the option to go shorter if you prefer.
Will this be the hike that puts you past 100 miles for the 100 mile challenge? As always, watch for updates on social media – this is Michigan and winter weather may be a factor.
The National HQ for the NCTA is in Lowell, and New Union Brewery serves a wonderful “North Country Ale” for those who wish to join and celebrate their 2025 hiking successes after.
Contact our hike coordinator to sign up: chrishal4d@icloud.com.
Our hikes are held on the third Saturday of the month, and will generally alternate routes between Newaygo and Kent Counties. With exceptions for special events, all hikes from April to October will begin at 10:00am. From November to March, hikes will begin at 1:00pm. We encourage hikers to consider meeting for coffee or lunch in the communities near each hike.
