The NCTA Allegheny National Forest Chapter invites you to north-central Pennsylvania for their annual A-100 event: an unsupported hiking event in which participants attempt 25, 50, 75, or 100 miles.

This annual event takes place on the 100-mile section of North Country National Scenic Trail through the Allegheny National Forest in Northern Pennsylvania. It it organized by NCTA Chapter volunteers, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service.

The fifteenth A-100 Hiking Challenge will be held June 12-14, 2026 and participants will travel north to south. Individuals challenge themselves to complete their chosen mileage in 50 hours. The ANF Chapter encourages participants to carefully consider mileage goals based on their fitness. Participants should also keep in mind that no transportation is provided except the shuttle from their chosen end point to the starting line.
