Events

The Grand Traverse Chapter will be celebrating National Trails Day on Saturday, June 7. (Please don’t confuse this event with the Kalkaska Trailhead Celebration which will be held the previous weekend.)

National Trails Day will be held at the Spring Lake State Forest Campground. There will be a choice of two guided hikes:

Long Hike:
8.3 miles from MDOT US-131 Rest Area to Spring Lake SFCG. This hike starts at 9:00am. Find details and RSVP here.

Short Hike and Potluck:
Spring Lake SFCG Headquarters Lake Dam and back, total of 4.6 miles, starts at 11:00am. If this distance is farther than you would like to go, you have the option of turning around and returning to the starting point at any time.

Potluck at 2:00pm. Also feel free to come early and camp with a few of us at Spring Lake SFCG. Find details and RSVP for this hike and potluck here.
