Eastern UP Hike, Trout Brook Pond
Join the NCTA Hiawatha Shore-to-Shore Chapter for a fun November hike. We can’t promise there will be snow, but there will be fun! This is a fairly easy hike without much elevation. It goes from river to creek to a huge spring-fed pond that is being re-created by the work of beavers.
Meet at the parking area on the south side of H-40 across from the Trout Brook trailhead sign, between Rudyard and Trout Lake (46.186467, -84.784017).
The length of the hike will vary depending on your abilities, motivation and the conditions that day. We will offer an 8-mile hike option from the Pine River back to our meeting location, a 5-mile option from Haywood School Road back to our meeting location, and an out-and-back hike option. We will carpool to the start of the longer hikes.
We may go out for a burger after the hike. Questions or comments? Text Tom Walker at 906-322-2617 or email hss@northcountrytrail.org. Cell phone service is spotty along the trail so there may not be an answer the day of the event. We will need to record your name and contact information before the hike.
