This is a chance to hike through the Tionesta Scenic Area with the Allegheny National Forest Chapter and see the lingering effects of the 1985 tornado that devastated the area!

We will meet at the Rt 6 Trailhead at 10 AM on Sunday, June 29th.

The Trailhead is located on Rt 6 about 2 miles east of Ludlow at N 41° 42.650’ W 078° 54.550’. You can also follow this link to the spot on the NCTA interactive map or in Google Maps.

We’ll start by driving to Fox’s Dam. From there we will hike south. Mileage to the border of the Tionesta Scenic Area (at FR 133E) and back is 5.6 miles. Hiking through the Tionesta Scenic Area to the Rock City Campsite and back is 11.2 miles. The length of the hike can be adjusted based on the desires of the participants. Please come prepared for the hike dressed in appropriate layers for the weather, and carrying your own food and water. Friendly dogs on leash are welcome.
