Prairie Fringed Orchid Hike, Dakota Prairie Chapter
Loading Map....
Join the NCTA Dakota Prairie Chapter on Saturday, July 8 at 9:00 a.m. for a moderate, 6-mile, out-and-back hike. We will observe the Western Prairie Fringed Orchid in bloom.
This delicate flower, which grows in the Sheyenne National Grassland, is considered a threatened species which means it is likely to become an endangered species in the future.
We will meet at the middle trailhead on County Road 53 which is 3 miles north of State Highway 27. Our leader, Aaron Gaither, is an employee of the U.S. Forest Service. We look forward to seeing you on this exciting hike! Visit our Meetup page for updated information and to RSVP.
