The Dakota Prairie Chapter’s segment of the North Country Trail is from the Sheyenne State Forest to the North Dakota-Minnesota state line at Fort Abercrombie State Park.
Here, the trail winds across the Sheyenne National Grassland; through the Ekre Grassland Preserve and Fort Abercrombie Historic Site; along the Sheyenne River; into the NCTA Trail Towns of Lisbon and Abercrombie. The Dakota Prairie Chapter volunteers maintain their segment in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, as well as others.
