Join the NCTA Marquette Area Chapter as we explore the McCormick Wilderness Tract. On our 6-mile out-and-back hike we will trek though beautiful stands of mature upland hardwoods and mixed conifers. Numerous streams and wildflowers adorn this section, and we may even see moose tracks.

Bring a lunch if you would like. We will be stopping at an overview on our way back, about three quarters of the way through the hike. Trekking poles are recommended on this easy/moderate section as some parts are steep and there are some creek crossings

Asa Fields is our seasoned hike leader, with five years of experience as a wilderness ranger in Oregon’s Cascade Mountains. Perhaps you’ve joined one of Asa’s two previous group hikes for the Marquette Area Chapter; his guiding style is both enjoyable and educational.
