First March Trail Work Day, ANF
Join the NCTA Allegheny National Forest Chapter for our first March trail work day on Sunday, March 10!
Our meeting time is 10:00 a.m. at the Route 948 Cherry Run Trailhead, located about three miles SE of the intersection of Route 666 and Route 948. Look for the sign to tell you to turn off Route 948 to get to the NCT trailhead (GPS coordinates 41.63448, -78.99768 or Google Maps).
We’ll be working on drainage, a short reroute, clearing trail, and staining/painting the large Route 948 road sign. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. All tools are provided and no special skills are needed. We encourage people new to trail work to come out and give back to the trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work.” Hope to see you there!
