ANF First March Workday
Join the NCTA Allegheny National Forest Chapter for our first March workday! Meet no later than 10:00 a.m. at the Cherry Run trailhead parking, off Route 948 south of Sheffield, PA (GPS coordinates 41.63460, -78.99810). The Route 948/Cherry Run trailhead is located about three miles SE of the intersection of Route 666 and Route 948. Look for the sign to tell you to turn left off of Route 948 to get to the NCT trailhead.
Depending on the weather, we’ll be putting in two short reroutes, staining signs and kiosks, working on drainage, and clearing trail. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. If you want to help stain, wear painting clothes. All tools are provided and no special skills are needed. We encourage people new to trail work to come out and give back to the Trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work.” Hope to see you there!
