Join the NCTA Allegheny National Forest Chapter on Sunday, October 15 for a shelter build!

We’ll meet no later than 10:00 a.m. at Kellettville in the parking lot next to the bridge and across from the Army Corps campground (GPS coordinates: N 41° 32.697’ W 79° 15.323’).

We’ll be building a shelter south of Kellettville, off of Branch Road. We will be carrying all the building materials into the forest about 0.15 miles. Then we’ll construct the new shelter. This will be the last of nine shelters that we’ve planned to construct along the NCNST in the ANF. Once this shelter is complete there will be a shelter, spaced about 10 miles apart, along the 95.7 miles of Trail. Thanks to all our volunteers who have worked on this effort!

Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. All tools are provided and no special skills are needed. We encourage people new to trail work to come out and give back to the Trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work.” Hope to see you there!
