Biesterfeldt Hike
If you like to hike and learn about local North Dakota history, this is a hike for you. Join the NCTA Dakota Prairie Chapter for a short, easy, out-and-back hike of about 3 miles through the Biesterfeldt National Historic Landmark. You will learn about the Native Americans who are believed to have occupied the site in the 1700s, as well as what makes this site so important. This hike starts at 1:00 pm and will last about 2 hours.
You will also have a chance to see a model of an Earthen Hut (built by a DPC member) in the nearby McLeod Museum. And finally, we hope everyone will stop in at the Silver Prairie Saloon in McLeod for a taste of local culture and some great food.
For directions to the hike, please see the Meetup post and please RSVP so we know to look for you.
