Join the Border Route Trail Association (BRTA) on a multi-day maintenance trip! We will drive up to Grand Marais (Minn.) and travel up the Gunflint Trail to the Iron Lake Campground and set up a base camp.

On Friday, the crew will drive out on Loon Lake Road (Highway 51) past the Loon Lake Lodge to the parking lot at the Crab Lake Spur Trail trailhead. We will hike 1.7 miles to the junction with the Crab Lake cutoff trail, which was cleared last year. The 0.8-mile BRT segment of the Crab Lake Section and the 0.9-mile northern segment of the Crab Lake Spur trail will be cleared. The crew will then return to base camp.

On Saturday, trail clearing will continue, including the 0.5-mile Border Route Trail segment between the junction with the Mayhew Road access trail east to the Sock Lake Camp trail junction.

On Sunday, the crew will return home.
