Beall Farmstead Work Party, Bowerston Section
The Buckeye Trail Association (BTA) Muskingum Lakes Chapter is calling for volunteers to come build a new trail around Tappan Lake that will connect the BTA Barn at the Beall Farmstead to the Tappan Lake entrance! Volunteers will also be working with the Student Conservation Association. This is a great opportunity to work alongside other folks helping to build and maintain the North Country National Scenic Trail.
This a four-day project, but you can volunteer for individual days. Camping available on-site, water source on-site. Bring your own food. Wear sturdy work boots and comfortable clothes appropriate for the weather (e.g. long pants, long sleeves). Please bring your own work gloves. Tools will be provided. No special skills are required, there will be someone on site to guide you through the project.
For more information regarding this event, please contact Jon Flinn at jon.flinn@buckeyetrail.org. Advanced registration in advance is strongly encouraged, as there is limited attendance.
The North Country National Scenic Trail overlaps with the Buckeye Trail throughout most of Ohio (about 900 miles), and is built and maintained by a large group of volunteers, just like the NCTA.
