Impromptu Workday
The first Chequamegon Chapter impromptu workday will be on Thursday, July 18th.
We will assemble at the trailhead on West Delta Road, a/k/a FR 231 (labeled North Delta Road on our maps) at 9AM.
We might divide into two groups, with one group going west from West Delta Road and another group going east from Canthook Lake Road, a/k/a FR 412, or we might “leapfrog” the work. This section is about 2.7 miles long.
A saw pack, PPE, and a first-aid kit will be provided. The PPE is bulky, so help will be needed carrying the equipment. You can also bring loppers and a hand saw, which is often faster than unpacking a chainsaw and the PPE.
It would be great to have a second Sawyer/Swamper team on this workday.
The weather report says we can expect a day that is mostly sunny with a high around 76 degrees, but we should finish before it gets that warm.
Bring work gloves, water, a snack, insect repellant, loppers if you have them, and perhaps a head net.
Possible meetup for ice cream in Delta when we finish. We will find a pleasant way to end the workday.
Please RSVP to Kevin Schram, Chequamegon Chapter President if you can attend: che@northcountrytrail.org.
