The April monthly meeting for the NCTA Grand Traverse Hiking Club Chapter will feature a program, Sawyering on the North Country Trail: What sawyers do and how you can help to make their job easier.

Trees are always falling on the Trail. The sawyers take care of removing them so that hikers can more easily pass along the Trail and so the mowing crew will not have obstructions. The sawyers depend on hikers and trail adopters to report conditions where their work is needed. This presentation will give those who report downed trees recommendations on what information the sawyers would like so that they can select the proper equipment and most easily get to the location of the trees.
