Heritage Chapter July Work Weekend
The NCTA Heritage Chapter‘s main focus will be trail maintenance (mowing, trail repair, and structure repair) and trail construction.
We have free camping available Friday and Saturday in Copper Falls State Park at Overflow Site 2 (Highway 169, just north of Mellen). Remember you will need a sticker pass on your vehicle if camping with us overnight.
If you don’t feel like camping, you can rent the Cozy Valley Lodge, a vacation rental home on the Thewis Family Farm (hosts of a section of the NCNST). It is the perfect place for a trail crew or hikers to hang out. And you are only a few hundred yards from the trailhead on Highway 169. Find Cozy Valley Lodge on Facebook, or call Kendra Thewis at 414-758-8823 for availability and reservations.
Meet at the entrance station at Copper Falls State Park on Highway 169 just east of Mellen at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday for tools, directions, and carpooling. Bring your own water (2+ liters recommended), trail lunch, snacks, and bug repellent. The Chapter will provide dinner after work on Saturday.
Please RSVP and find updated information on this event on Meetup.
Thank you volunteers, for all you do to support the North Country National Scenic Trail. Without volunteers there would not be a Trail!
