Total Hike: ~ 7.0 miles, M32 to Dobleski Rd (via Warner Creek Pathway)

The NCTA Jordan Valley 45° Chapter will be hosting a hike on March 19th. We will meet at the Warner Creek Pathway Trailhead on M32 (mile 648.5), which is about 3.0 miles west of US131.

We will gather at 9:30am and hit the trail promptly at 10:00am.

Before the hike, we need to post cars at Dobleski Rd. We will ferry people back to M32 after the hike.

Long Hike Option: Hike counter-clockwise on the Warner Creek Loop (about 3.0 miles) and stop along the way to check out our new bridge and beaver deceiver (mile 649.75) on Warner Creek/ O’Brien Pond. We will then continue the Warner Creek Loop to M32 (mile 647.5) and walk the hilly section between M32 and US131 (about 4.0 miles), cross 131 and hike downhill to Dobleski Rd (mile 643.75).

Short hike option: To shave off a couple of miles, some may want to skip the Warner Creek loop and just stay on the NCT (see map, 4.75 miles).

The Warner Creek Loop is mostly flat but can be wet along Warner Creek (we may use the dry-but-hillier route). The M32 to US131 section is hilly, but high and dry.

We can picnic on the trail, so don’t forget to bring snacks and drinks. If we have a quorum, afterwards, we may go to Larry’s (on 131 and 32) for pops and fries.

Dress appropriately for the weather; snowshoes may be necessary!

If you can’t bring a friend, one will be provided.

The Jordan Valley 45° Chapter’s trail runs from Starvation Lake Rd (near Mancelona) to Kipp Rd in Harbor Springs. 79 miles of awesome valleys, hills and wooded trails. Over the course of the year, we try to cover all 79 miles. Monthly hikes are usually on the 3rd Saturday of the month.
