National Trails Day, Spirit of the Woods Chapter Hike
The NCTA Spirit of the Woods Chapter (northwest Lower Peninsula) invites you to a hike on Saturday, June 4 in honor of National Trails Day. This is the 30th anniversary of National Trails Day! We will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Hamlin Dam parking area near Hamlin Beach at Ludington State Park.
We are planning a hike of approximately five miles on the trails at Ludington State Park. Afterwards, we will meet for an appetizer potluck and socializing. We will grab a picnic table at the Sable River day use area nearest to the Cedar Campground entrance. Look for the North Country Trail tablecloth! Bring an appetizer to share and a chair for yourself. If you would just rather eat and socialize, and skip the hike, we will gather at approximately 11:30 a.m.
The park does have a $5 daily fee or you will need to have the Michigan recreational passport, which would be designated on your license plate. Dogs are allowed at the park, but will need to be leashed and please clean up after them.
