This hike with our Spirit of the Woods Chapter will be an out-and-back hike going south on the North Country Trail from the Udell Trailhead on Fire Tower Road. Fire Tower Road is on M55 east of Manistee.

You can customize the distance that you hike since you can hike out and back for a shorter distance. Loren Bach will be the “sweep”, leading a shorter, slower hike of about 5 miles if you would like this.

We will meet and park at Udell trailhead (This is NOT Udell Road). This is at approximately milepost 822 on the NCTA online ArcGIS maps. You can find that map at this link.

Note: The Avenza app has had recent updates which affected the milepost numbers. Please update your maps to have the correct milepost number.

Note: Manistee has construction which has closed the bridge on M31. There is a detour and Google maps should re-route you around the construction.
