National Trails Day, Darlington Days Hike
Join the NCTA Wampum Chapter for a hike to celebrate both National Trails Day and Darlington Days. The hike will be approximately three miles; easy to moderate hiking with some hills.
Why is this hike scheduled so early? To allow participants to enjoy and, if desired, march with Wampum Chapter volunteers in the 10:00 a.m. Darlington Days parade.
Park behind the First United Presbyterian Church. We’ll start the day at the Darlington trailhead and follow the lovely Little Beaver Creek, then go uphill to the cemetery and turn around at the Route 51 bridge crossing, where we can view the traffic below us. We’ll return downhill to town in time for festivities, which include multiple food and shopping vendors and activities, including the Wampum Chapter’s hiking stick carving setup!
Sturdy footwear is recommended. Bring your own personal beverage and/or snack if you wish. We will have Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic beers available, courtesy of the American Hiking Society‘s National Trails Day promotion.
