Join the Allegheny National Forest Chapter for our first March trail work day on Sun, March 9!

Our meeting time is 10am on Sun, March 9 at Rt 666 Henrys Mills. The Henrys Mills Trailhead is located on Rt 666 at about 3.5 miles south of Rt 948 on the SE side of the bridge over the Tionesta Creek. Coordinates are N 41°38.158’ W 079° 02.569’. You can also follow this link to the spot on the NCTA interactive map.

Make a difference and have fun rerouting 0.25 miles of trail! This section of the established trail is along an old railroad grade with failed drainage in the Pell Run valley. Student Conservation Association trail crews rerouted two sections of the trail in this area over a decade ago. Our work would connect these two sections by moving an additional 0.1 miles of trail upslope to avoid the wet railroad grade and two failing bridges.

We will be hiking in about a mile to get to the reroute area. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. All tools are provided and no special skills are needed. We encourage people new to trail work to come out and give back to the trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work”. Hope to see you there!
