Allegheny National Forest Chapter: April Guided Night Hike
Join our Allegheny National Forest Chapter’s first night hike! If you’ve never hiked at night and would like to do so with experienced guides, this is the time to try. Hiking at night is an essential skill to have for participating in the longer distances of the Allegheny-100 Hiking Challenge, so we encourage you to come and enjoy the ANF at night.
We’ll meet no later than 6:30 pm at the parking on FR 449. The trail is located about 3 miles NE of Rt 666 and about 3.5 miles SW of FR 116 on FR 449. There is parking just to the east of the trail or just to the west at the intersection of FR 449 with FR 450. GPS coordinates, N 41⁰36.150’ W 079⁰15.820’. This link will take you to the interactive map on the NCT national website. The parking is located at mile 211.8 on the map.
Please come prepared for the hike dressed in appropriate layers for the weather, and carrying your own food and water. Friendly dogs are welcome. Hope to see you there!
After the hike, the hike leaders will be camping out at a large dispersed campsite off of FR 449. You are welcome to bring your tent or hammock and gear and join them for the night.
