ANF Chapter August Guided Hike
Join the Allegheny National Forest Chapter for a mid-summer hike heading south toward the Tionesta Creek.
Our meeting time is 10:00am at FR 449 parking. The NCT crosses FR 449 about 3 miles NE of Rt 666 and about 3.5 miles SW of FR 116. There is parking just to the east of the trail or just to the west at the intersection of FR 449 with FR 450. You can also follow this link to the spot on the NCTA interactive map. (On the map, FR 449 is called Midway FS Rd, and FR 116 is called Mayburg Rd.)
We will do an out-and-back hike south on the NCT toward the Tionesta Creek. It is about 4.6 miles to go to FR 159 and back or about 10.8 miles to go to Pierson Hill Rd and return. The Tionesta bridge is another 0.3 miles road walk each way. The length of the hike can be adjusted based on the desires of the participants.
Please come prepared for the hike dressed in appropriate layers for the weather, and carrying your own food and water. Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome.
We hope to see you down the trail!
